Mother's Day Recipe Scrapbook

Lk_cookbook Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I wanted to share this absolutely lovely gift from my 10-yr-old. She took all my little scrap recipes--the ones I have jotted down on envelopes, scraps of paper, cut off of packages and out of magazines over the years, and organized them into this beautiful recipe scrapbook--complete with (Heidi Grace Designs) tabs between the sections. She also wrote comments throughout and memories of when we ate some of those things. Honestly--made me want to just burst out in tears! Tell me about your Mother's Day, and I will pick one random winner and send you a free scrapbook on Friday. Lk_cookbook_2

What a lovely recipe book!! That is awesome how your daughter did that!! She's as creative as you!!
For Mother's Day, my DH and DD went out to eat with each our parents for dinner. DH got me an ipod so that I have music when I exercise or take baby on walks! I am so excited. Spent the day with family and I really enjoyed it!!

It rained ALL day here ! YUk

But, we still had a very lovely day. Hubby fixed the coffee and offered breakfast. The kids gave me a Fiskars rotary trimmer with 2 extra blades, the scoring blade and the scallop blade (yippee!) DS (9yr) gave me a silk scented rose and lots of coupons good for things like a backrub, cooking dinner, mowing grass, dishes, laundry, cleaning the litter box...all sorts of things.. too cute! DD gave me hugs and kisses, she had been gone to a bday slumber party all night and was a wee bit cranky ! LOL

Glad you enjoyed your day! What a lovely gift, especially the notes written on the recipes! That is fantastic!

Just Adorable! My wonderful Mother's Day started out with a breakfast fit for a Queen. And my DH built me shelves. It was a a perfect day!

Mother's Day here wasn't too bad. We live on a place with 80 people so we had a great big special supper for everyone and the mother's were sent home to enjoy the rest of the day. they didn't have to do the dishes.

dont enter me....

What a great daughter you have! wonderful idea.

Wow, that is so sweet of your daughter! She is definitely a craft-a-holic in the making!

What a wonderful present! I am impressed by her initiative!!! WTG Mom, you did good!!!

I had an awesome day. My present came the day before. My DS participated in his school Olympiad with 7 other schools. They were divided up into City-States so that each child wasn't with their classes and most weren't with their own teacher.

To make a long story short, he didn't win anything in any of the events, but at the end one person from each City-State was chosen by their "King or Queen" (teachers) to wear the Laurel Wreath as the Olympian who best exemplified the ideal of the Olympic athlete-citizen in sportsmanship, encouragement of others and grace and beauty.

DS was chosen for his City-State making me so proud. I couldn't have asked for a better present!

Thanks for letting me share ;)

What a precious gift your DD made you..I would have cried!! :) I got a new coffee mug with the verse "I can do all things through Christ who strenghens me." on it. It's so cute. Plus DH took me to lunch after church..a he also took me to Archivers and let me go shopping!! Then I got to come home and spend the rest of the day crafting!! Awesome Day!!

Wow! What an amazingly talented daughter you have! I had great day! Some sweet cards from some of my children & they bought me lots of shirts (which I really needed)! We had a good time visiting both sets of parents that day also.

I had a wonderful day, beginning with DH bringing me a lovely bunch of flowers, then we had a family lunch with my extended family so we could be with my Mum, we had a great afternoon talking and the kids playing out on the lawn - the perfect sunday.

What a wonderful creative gift that your daughter gave you. I love how she added her own special touches to it. It definately is a treasure.

We had a nice family meal at a local restaurant. DS put a new starter in my van for me as mine decided to go on Saturday right in the middle of yardsaling. What a bummer. It's so nice having a son who's a mechanic. lol

Got lots of rain! Visited my mom for a bit. What a great gift you received!

What a great gift. How special that she wrote notes too! I had a great Mother's Day. I did all my "visiting" on Friday and Saturday and Sunday I stayed home, did NOTHING (but cook) and me, kids and grandkids visited all day. It was a beautiful sunny and relaxing day.

What a terrific suprise from your Daughter. My DD and her family brought me an edible bouquet made from fruit. My grandson said it best Nana loves flowers, and she loves to eat fruit, she'll be happy. I had a nice day.

First I want to say that you must be such a wonderful mother and a very huge inspiration for your daughter! For her to be 10 years old and gather everything that she did and create that beautiful recipe book full of memories.......is absolutely brilliant! So not only is your gift the book, but it is knowing that you are raising a wonderfully thoughtful daughter that took so much time, thought, and energy to honor her mother. That alone says so much about your parenting skills and role modeling! What a gift!

My mother's day was full of family. My mother in law was here, my parents, and then my husband and 4 year old daughter. My husband made honey mustard chicken sandwiches with fresh fruit salad and baked beans. What a lovely day! Of course I received cards, flowers, and a gift certificate to purchase my yearly hanging basket!

What a beautiful mother's day present, you are indeed a very lucky Mum.
Both of my boy's played football (Aussie rules), my younger son had an away game and my older son played at home, the football club provided all Gullies mum's with a bbq breakfast/lunch with champagne. Lucky for me I was able to enjoy my older son's game, I am the first aid officer for the team and I had no injuries to attend to. So I was in my element taking over 300 photo's.

My Sunday was very relaxing and included my favorite...hot fudge sundae! We had actually celebrated a little on Saturday with part of the family. I'm sure you are very proud of your daughter and the amazing gift she gave you.

What a great gift to receive. My day was quite.I spent the day with just my two dogs.

What a creative gift your daughter made you.
My son gave me the dvd "3:10 to Yuma", and I spent my day scapping and ended it with popcorn and the movie.

What a beautiful gift. I love seeing young children scrapbooking. I know one day they will appreciate having it all to look back on.

I spent my day at home scrapbooking, but celebrated the day before by going to my lss for some new products, out to lunch with hubby and daughters, and just relaxing.

Wait did I say that? Relax? I also did laundry, dishes, floors..lol! Hope yours was happy :)

What a sweet thing for your daughter to make for you! I really wish someone would organize my recipe drawer (and that my kids liked my cooking ~ picky 4 and 6 year olds).

We spent Mother's Day afternoon with extended family at a picnic at the park.

Please don't include me in the giveaway but I did want to comment. This gift is so precious and from the heart. What an absolute sweet thing to do, how creative and how thoughtful. Goodness gracious . . . touched my heart. Way to go LK! Wow!

What a touching gift! My Mother's Day was wonderful. My husband cooked me a lovely seafood spread for dinner (and he hates seafood!). Got to spend time in my scrapbook room and had mommy and daughter scrapbook time!

My daughter's class had a wonderful program and luncheon on Friday where she gave me a handpainted teacup with teabags and candies. DH and the men's group at chuch cooked a pancake breakfast for all the moms. I also got beautiful cards from both DD and DH plus during Sunday School DD made another one. For lunch we went to the country club for a great meal. I was treated like a queen all day and my new SB800 flash they ordered for me arrived on Wed.
